London born singer/songwriter Adele was born May 5th, 1988 as Adele Laurie Blue Adkins. She was offered a recording contract after posting her demo on Myspace in 2006. By 2008 she won the BBC Sound of 2008 and her career started picking up in the UK and in the US.
