My Story
Karl McGrotty (Lighting Designer) has been working in technical theatre for over 9 years. Born in Ireland and raised in Massachusetts, he graduated from Dean College in 2011 with an Honors Bachelor of Arts and Entertainment Management degree in Theatre. He is a KCACTF member and a Unsung Hero Award winner for the past four years of college technical excellence. Most recently he completed an 8 week intensive training program at the Stagecraft Institute of Las Vegas. He plans to begin a career in lighting design and his goal is to “illuminate the world around [him] with all forms technical media and art.
