My Story
I set out to become the person others call when they need help. I became an EMT at 16 and a Paramedic at 19 and saved as many lives as I could however I wasn't able to save them all. I'd be lying to you if I said it was easy, if I said I always got a full nights sleep, and never turned to the bottle for help to forget. I got out of the ambulance when I was 21 because after seeing all it had to offer me I sat back and realized that the definition of right and wrong weren't as clear as they once were. I often asked myself if I was doing the right thing day in and day out. When I left medicine I was a lost soul, I didn't know where to go as I was always certain I was going to be a medic for the rest of my life.
I've tried a lot of different jobs and haven't actually been happy in a long time, I think at some level I've actually forgotten how. My past is exactly that, my past. I've spent a year dwelling on it and I'm looking to move forward.
