Who came out this year?

GFM-Blog-Who-came-out-in-2015-patricia-velasquez-400Congratulations to everyone in 2015 who had the courage to come out despite all the obstacles surrounding it. I am very proud of you. This was an insane year for the LGBT community with celebrities making headlines for coming out and the USA finally allowing gay marriage.

Today we’re looking at some of the major celebrity coming out stories that happened this year. It’s never too late to accept who you are and openly embrace it. Always stay safe!

Kristen Stewart

Perhaps this isn’t a true coming out story because Kristen never explicitly stated she was gay, but we’ll take what we can get. Earlier this year Kristen’s mom told a British Journalist that her daughter was gay and Kristen being someone who doesn’t talk much about her personal life simply said, “Google me, I’m not hiding.” when asked.

Miley Cyrus

She didn’t come out as lesbian but rather as pansexual, meaning she can be attracted to anyone regardless of gender. However, before even coming out she was always a fan of equality and supporting the community.

Patricia Velasquez

This gorgeous Latina supermodel came out as being a lesbian this year. You’d most likely recognize her from The Mummy series or Arrested Development. It was Lagerfield that inspired her to embrace being a lesbian and that led to her eventually coming out. She also speaks of knowing true unconditional love when her mother accepted her fully.

Lily-Rose Depp

Johnny Depp’s daughter has been entering the mainstream this year and she seems to be everywhere. She has no solidified response, but a photo project she participated in let us know that she “falls somewhere on the vast spectrum.”

Cara Delevingne

This British supermodel came out publicly in Vogue magazine. She has said that she’s been happier ever since. She fell in love with her girlfriend St.Vincent and had to come to terms with being herself and accepting who she is.
